10 Ways Star Wars Battlefront Is Far Better Than You Think

The most fun multiplayer shooter since Modern Warfare 2. For real.

One of the most hotly-anticipated games in recent times was dropped on the public to a less-than-enthusiastic response, but while Star Wars Battlefront has divided fans across the world, there's no doubt in my mind that it is an incredible production worthy of a place in your games library. As far as shooters go, Battlefront without a doubt ranks among the top, and that's all due to stripping itself back to the bare basics of the genre. There's been a multitude of complaints with regards to EA's handling of the game and their disgracefully high price for a few extra maps in the season pass, and I agree with all of them. However, that shouldn't detract from the fact that while there's not a lot of game to play, what is there, is spectacular. So if you're sitting on the fence over whether to part with your cash, or if you've been thrown into doubt about whether the game's actually any good, here are the main reasons why Battlefront is far better than people are giving it credit for.

10. Superb Sounds

A tremendous musical score and immersive sound effects can transform a good game into a great one, and Battlefront has had the honour of a top class soundtrack smothered all over it. Some of the music is obviously pulled straight from the brain of the legendary John Williams, but a lot of credit must be diverted to an unsung hero. Gordy Haab was handed the thankless task of doing the unthinkable: matching Williams' Star Wars sounds. And guess what? He's absolutely nailed it. Haab has re-orchestrated and moulded original tunes to fit the game, as well as creating his own tracks to be used throughout. It's seamless. Add into the mix the whole range of authentic tie fighter, lightsaber, and environment sounds and you've got a flawless performance to listen to.
