Already something which has seen a high uptake of subscribers and impressed through ingenuity and forward-thinking, the Xbox Game Pass threatens to be Sony's biggest problem.

Microsoft are thought to be keen on expanding what the game pass brings to users, and are already targeting PC and Nintendo Switch players.

This could mean an earth moving shift for the entire gaming industry, as Microsoft opens up games only previously available to Xbox users to pretty much anybody.

It gives the company a crucial way in to gradually tease away Sony's users, allowing PS players to simply purchase a Game Pass, and play whatever game they like from the comfort of their PC or smartphone.

This threatens to blow Sony out of the water and essentially render it unimportant what console you go for, while Microsoft reap the monetary rewards regardless.
