10 Worst Pokémon Video Games Ever

7. Pokémon Ranger - DS

Nintendo

For a series that declares that you 'Gotta Catch 'Em All', Pokémon Ranger has to be the entry that flips the Vs at this concept the most. Instead of playing as a plucky ten year old on a mission to catch all the little critters, you're thrust into the shoes of a Pokémon Ranger who protects the public by temporarily taking control of wild Pokémon.

Erm? Temporarily taking control? As in no Pokédex to complete? Nope, your job here is to protect everyone and everything by borrowing Pokémon from the wild to complete puzzles and scare off a load of hoodlums known as the 'Go-Rock Squad' (seriously...) who want to take control of the Weather Trio and pretend to be heroes when they tell them to stop attacking people. Cripes!

Never had I been so confused when playing a Pokémon title. The crass attempt to justify the DS's touchscreen by making the 'Capture Styler' an exercise in wrist action was just horrific and I can't believe this game has sequels. They should've stopped the madness here and gone back to what they do best - CATCHING THE DAMN THINGS!
