10 Worst Video Game Bosses Ever

2. Seth - Street Fighter IV (2010)

If there was ever a genre of games purpose built for frustrating boss battles, it’s fighting games. And out of this treasure trove of brutal challengers designed to push your skills and controller’s durability to the absolute limit, none are as aggravatingly awful as Seth from Street Fighter IV.

Making his debut appearance in this game, this muscular blue being is the last boss players will come up against. Being the final boss in a fighting game, beating Seth was never going to be an easy task; but nobody expected how impossible this feat would be.

He was immensely strong, could teleport, perform grapple attacks, blast projectiles, and had a series of powerful combos that could quickly spell a game over. In short, the developers essentially took what made other characters challenging and crammed them all into this final boss. The result wasn’t just an unimaginative character who lacked the visual creativity of his peers, but one that fundamentally suffered from poor gameplay design.

With no weaknesses to capitalise on, Seth is proof that difficulty alone doesn’t equate to engaging challenge. It only makes for one of the worst bosses in video game history.
