11 Cancelled Superhero Games That Would Have Been Amazing

11. Marvel: Chaos

Moving away from the grimdark nature of Marvel Nemesis: Rise of The Imperfects, its planned sequel, Marvel Chaos, would have instead embraced the over-the-top silliness of comic-book bouts and focused on the colourful characters of Marvel's stable only.

Even better, in order to improve the core fighting mechanics, the development team were apparently treated the environment like a third character, with players being able to use their surroundings to smash opponents into objects, inflict extra damage, and set up hazards for them to avoid; hence the "Chaos" moniker the game was running with.

While that could have seemed a bit gimmicky at the time, titles like Injustice have proved that superhero games feel much more epic and true to their comic-book counterparts when the environment becomes part of the bout itself.

Of course, Rise of the Imperfects completely bombed when it released, pleasing neither fighting game fans nor ride-or-die Marvel fanatics, resulting in this follow up being canned as EA opted to move forward with other projects.
