11 Video Game Boss Attacks That Were Utter BS

4. Nuclear Armadillo's Nuclear Explosion - Ninja Gaiden 2

Nuclear Armadillo may have a ridiculous name but anyone who's played Ninja Gaiden 2 knows it's unwise to underestimate him. For the most part, this monster's strategies are relatively simple. While you hack away at this walking volcano, he will launch fireballs, trip you with its tail, and try to squash you.

When his health bar is depleted, players naturally let their guard down, believing the battle is over. But as the Nuclear Armadillo draws his last breath, he blows up, incinerating everything in his vicinity to a crisp. And if you weren't ready for this explosion, it will kill you immediately, forcing you to fight the Armadillo all over again.

Now, there are some players that don't think this last ditch attack is a big deal. After all, you can just deflect the explosion by blocking, can't you?

Well, that's true... but not in the original game. In the first version of Ninja Gaiden 2, the only way to survive Nuclear Armadillo's final assault was to perform Reverse Wind, which requires precise timing. So many players complained about the difficulty of this boss, later editions of the game tweaked this fight so you can block Nuclear Armadillo's kamikaze move.
