12 Best FPS Multiplayer Maps Of All Time

5. Upward - Team Fortress 2

Ramshackle, multilayered, and meticulously designed to create choke-points for the action, Upward is (very arguably) the greatest map for Team Fortress 2. The ramshackle-looking design of the map - essentially a rickety wild west factory situated on top of a cliff - deceives its brilliant design, which is filled with sniping towers, crucial strategic points outside of the map's control points, and a great sense of verticality, with plenty of opportunities to use height to your advantage. Being a Payload map (in which one team must guide an explosive along a mine-cart track all around the level while the other team tries to destroy it), a match is essentially a tour of the whole level, taking you through its mines, peaks and troughs, and keeping the action constantly fluctuating.
