Speaking of games that'll blow you away, Insomniac's return to Ratchet & Clank was a landmark lesson to developers in how to revisit one of your own projects, in terms of doing it the utmost justice.
Graphics and gameplay were rebuilt from the ground up, with a narrative that's actually a 'sequel', only to tell the events of the original game, allowing for some great comedy if and when you deviate from the narration.
As always, Insomniac's platforming chops are some of the best in the business, and that's before you realise shots like the above are in-game, establishing Ratchet & Clank as a total technical masterpiece.
With the 3D platformer possibly making a comeback this year through Yooka-Laylee and Crash's N. Sane Trilogy, Ratchet & Clank already set the bar way, WAY high.
