12 Biggest Missed Opportunities In Gaming History

1. The Wii U

Here's the thing with the Wii U: It's actually a pretty awesome system - one that you can play from your couch without even turning on the TV, as the console will beam everything to the tablet for a variety of titles. It's backwards compatible with Wii games, can play all sorts of old-school Nintendo classics - including a healthy SNES library - and is home to some of the finest HD remakes of all time (The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, anyone?).

That said though, Nintendo did absolutely f*ck all promoting these features. Instead they seemed content for the masses to think the Wii U was an add-on to the Wii, whilst letting its considerably healthy catalogue of titles fall by the wayside.

For all intents and purposes, yes, its Gamepad is very clunky, but it's still a satisfying and enjoyable system to get to grips with - one that lets you build up one hell of a library of games from across Nintendo's legendary back catalogue.

Maybe the Switch will do it better, but considering even that already has its problems, we'll have to wait and see.
