12 Horrifying Movie Monsters Video Games Totally Nerfed

5. The Dinosaurs - Jurassic Park (3DO)

The late Michael Crichton's thriller, Jurassic Park, is a modern classic. This book mixed the right amounts of suspense with high-concept science that it was a no-brainer for Hollywood to bring it to the big screen. Directed by the one and only Steven Spielberg, the film has also become a recognized classic leading the way for scores of somewhat successful video games including the 3DO's Jurassic Park Interactive. When released this game was a success because it gave the player an experience most like the movie, but that doesn't mean it was good. It begins with a 32-bit rendering of footage from the film that leads the player into a series of mini-games, which, for the most part, seem bizarrely confused such as a Jurassic Park themed Space Invaders. To be fair this game did include a few mini-games that involve trying to save guests while being chased by the T-Rex and raptors. Neither of these are as scary as they sound. The last of these games is a stiff-as-nails rail shooter where you attempt to take down spitting dilophosaurus in what can only be described as a stone-age Big Buck Hunter.
