6. The Tetris Theme Is Based Off A Russian Folk Song

This one is pretty simple, but incredibly amusing nonetheless. The music that became associated with the game Tetris (which played during the game's A Type mode) is actually based on a nineteenth-century Russian folk song named Korobeiniki.

The song details the courtship between a peddler and a girl he meets on the road. It stems from a poem written by a man named Nikolay Nekrasov, which was published in a Russian magazine in 1861.
