12 Ridiculous Video Game Movies You Didn't Know Were Happening

10. Rollercoaster Tycoon

The Game: One of the most iconic management simulators ever made, Rollercoaster Tycoon allows the player to take control of their own theme park, designing insane new rides, dealing with unruly guests and of course, ensuring the books are balanced at all times. The Movie: In 2010, Sony Pictures Animation announced that they were making a live-action/animation hybrid film, with Harald Zwart (2010's The Karate Kid remake) directing. The premise will apparently be a Night at the Museum-esque affair in which a theme park comes to life at night. Why It's Ridiculous: It's understandable that Hollywood is turning to the lucrative video game world for ideas...but did anyone think they'd start adapting management sims? Is there really a lot of mileage in this idea? Plus, the whole "park comes to life" idea pretty much just sounds like an original concept with the Rollercoaster Tycoon label slapped on it for commercial purposes. Best to be suspicious about this one.
