12 Most Satisfying Villain Deaths In Gaming History

6. Big Boss - Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots

Cause of Death: When an elderly Big Boss confronts Solid Snake (now Old Snake) at The Boss' graveyard, the new FOXDIE virus injected into Snake by Drebin earlier in the game takes effect, killing him just as he gets to make peace with Snake and advise him to enjoy whatever time he has left. Why It's So Satisfying: Though Big Boss' stature as a "villain" has become increasingly ambiguous over the course of the various Metal Gear Solid prequel games, it was enormously satisfying to see his story be given a clear, unambiguous end. Whatever Kojima and co. might cook up with Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, we know how Big Boss' story ends, and though we as players didn't get a hand in it, it was still extremely satisfying to just sit back and watch the drama unfold. Boss explains to Snake the true nature of Liquid Ocelot and also the feud between himself and Major Zero, passing away with dignity by The Boss' grave, as he poignantly notes that his spirit died the day he killed her, and urges Snake to give up fighting. Liquid Ocelot may have been the main event, but this epilogue sequence brought to rest the series' most pervasive character, even more so than Snake himself.
