12 Most Satisfying Villain Deaths In Gaming History

4. The Lich King - World Of Warcraft: Wrath Of The Lich King

Cause of Death: About 20 high-level nerds firing everything they've got for as long as they can last. Eventually, something's gotta give. Why It's So Satisfying: Arthas aka the Lich King was introduced a long time before Wrath of the Lich King hit stores in 2008, taking the crown for himself in 2003's Warcraft 3 expansion, the Frozen Throne. He appears throughout Wrath of the Lich King, though a direct confrontation is saved until the very end of the game, as you and your sizable raid take him on in Icecrown Citadel. At the time of the game's release, this battle was notorious for its difficulty, whereby one mistake or mis-calculation could lead to the entire party being wiped out. In those early days, it was a frustrating battle to play, though the excitement of everyone mucking in together online, and the feeling of realising you were going to take the Lich King down, were hugely satisfying. Seeing his body drop to the floor and the ending cut-scene trigger is one of the best moments in the history of the insanely popular MMORPG.
