6. 2-Player Final Fantasy VIII - Charlie's Angels

And now we're just getting silly. 2000's big-screen Charlie's Angels adaptation features a gut-bustingly ridiculous misrepresentation of the beloved Square Enix RPG Final Fantasy VIII.

As Dylan (Drew Barrymore) finds herself in a bit of a pickle and seeks the help of two young boys playing the game, we can see them both tapping away on their controllers despite the fact that FFVIII is in no way a two-player game.

To make it even more insulting, the on-screen gameplay is clearly single-player in nature and the kids are just smashing away on random buttons.

Ironically, Final Fantasy IX did actually feature a small multiplayer component, though didn't release until after the movie had finished shooting.

Considering the size of the series' fanbase and how blatantly the movie lingers on the kids and the game, this is completely ridiculous.
