Although the genre can be great fun, clearly the kart-racing template was going to be adhered to, to a tee. Jumping off the start gate because you timed your boost correctly and getting randomly shrunk by the competition or blasted by missiles as you tore through floating power-ups were here in abundance, and besides that being totally serviceable, to any who'd played the three racers mentioned at the start of this entry, it was just more a case of 'is that it?'
