And finally, it's the game that broke more hearts this year than any other...Bungie's insanely ambitious but shockingly piecemeal MMO shooter Destiny. Touted as a deep, epic experience sure to take gamers on an imaginative journey like no other, the game was in fact a strangely empty patchwork of other, better games. Though the combat mechanics and Crucible multiplayer are easily the strongest elements, as an MMO, it falls painfully flat. The story sucks, Peter Dinklage is given nothing to do, the missions can be blasted through in a few short hours, they're all soul-destroyingly repetitive, the missions on each planet take place on pretty much the same stretch of map, match-making with other players is trying at best, communicating with them is even more difficult, the loot game is tremendously boring, and reaching level 30 is a dull slog that most players simply won't bother with. With expensive DLC planned for release shortly while Bungie have already talked up Destiny 2, it seems the developer are keen to milk gullible gamers out of as much cash as they can rather than deliver on their initial promises. So, which games have disappointed you the most this year? Disagree with any of these picks? Shout it out in the comments!
