The Hype: 2014's South Park: The Stick of Truth was such a breath of fresh air, delivering arguably the most faithful adaptation of any TV show or movie into a video game, serving up the hilariously over-the-top social satire and distinctive art style of Matt Stone and Trey Parker's beloved TV series.

With The Fractured but Whole set to lampoon the superhero genre, clearly there's a lot of mileage the pair could get out of this game, not to mention their promise that the movement and combat will be significantly improved (as was one of the first game's biggest complaints).

Why It'll Disappoint: First and foremost, there's some worry among fans that this one's just spent too damn long in the oven, especially considering that it's hitting stores 8 months after its initially planned release.

More to the point, the game has clearly been created as a satire of Captain America: Civil War, but with the movie being 18 months old by the time the game finally comes out, its satire probably won't feel quite so fresh considering the Internet has already had all this time to make many of the same jokes.

Even if it's good, it wouldn't be surprising if the rough production prevents it from quite reaching the excellence of the first game.
