13 Most Frustrating Aspects Of E3 That Never Change

11. Nintendo Only Ever Appeal To The Same Groups Of Fans

Nintendo doesn't really "get" marketing. They are trying to sell the Nintendo Switch as a competitor to the PlayStation and Xbox, but they ultimately end up playing to their own crowds. They are stuck within their own box, finding it incredibly difficult to get new fans for their games - because all the games they're making are for existing demographics and fanbases.

That isn't a bad thing, but it is also clear that Nintendo wants to branch out. The Switch is the first console to have decent third-party support, and the number of exclusive games that Nintendo are releasing is baffling. They appear too tied to their brand. It's all Mario and Zelda, and nothing to appeal to anyone outside this wheelhouse.

Watching their showcases become frustrating if you're a wannabe Nintendo fan. They simply aren't great at converting a PS4 or Xbox owner to their side.
