The latest interactive drama from David Cage and Quantic Dream depicts a machine uprising in Detroit from the perspective of three androids: a female model who gains sentience, a police droid tasked with hunting dissenters down, and an android who fights for his kind's freedom.
By this point, you know what you're getting with a David Cage game: state-of-the-art visuals, an impressively branching narrative and a plot that more likely than not goes totally off-the-rails at some point.
In both their best and worst moments, Cage's games are always unique and intriguing, and while there's been some controversy about the game's seemingly on-the-nose racial allegory, Detroit does look like another enticing and ambitious winner for the most part.
