13 Worst Video Game Industry Decisions Made In 2016 (So Far)
13. Modern Warfare Remastered Isn't Sold Separately
Though fans rejoiced when it was announced that 2007's iconic, ground-breaking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would be releasing remastered alongside the new core title Infinite Warfare, that quickly turned to rage when it transpired that it would only be available to those who bought the laughably expensive Legacy, Digital Deluxe or Legacy Pro editions.
In short, MW's remastering won't be sold separately, a huge blow to fans who perhaps aren't particularly interested in the new game but want to relive the series at its best.
While it's extremely likely that Activision will release a solo MW Remastered sometime next year, it's infuriating that players who don't want to splash out on a special edition up front are being denied the chance to buy it separately.
Annoyingly, Modern Warfare Remastered is also a digital download and one that will apparently be tied to the physical IW disc, so you can't even buy IW and then simply sell it afterwards while retaining Modern Warfare. Taking MW hostage in the pursuit of more money is why we can't have nice things.
