8. Dark Souls III Bans Innocent Players
Cheating is a major problem on the PC version of Dark Souls 3, and so From Software implemented a "soft ban" scenario, whereby cheaters would simply be prevented from playing with non-cheaters and instead be paired with their own "kind".
This is all well and good, except it forgets that cheaters can intentionally "infect" honest players by giving them hacked weapons, resulting in a situation where the developer advised players against "taking candy from strangers", which is quite honestly a pathetic and redundant response to the issue.
From Software have since issued remedies to try and fix, such as patches and a vow to double-check any accounts that are contested by afflicted players, but it's still extremely frustrating: people who have paid for a game should not have to plea their case simply to be able to play it properly.
Hopefully FromSoft take this criticism onboard for anything Dark Souls/Bloodborne-related going forward.
