Man, Mass Effect Andromeda really was a laughing stock, wasn't it? From the second all its initial animations came out showing 90-degree angled walks and stock-still wide-eyed commanders getting very angry indeed, there was no hope.

Now we've seen Kotaku give it the full investigative treatment, the real story behind Andromeda's failure comes from a lack of bodies on the dev team, alongside funds being taken away from areas like story and animation to funnel into the multiplayer.

The reality for fans is a game that has very solid, almost recommendable shooting controls... and literally nothing else.
