Future generations will look back at the handling of Beyond Good & Evil as 'How not to escalate interest in your game sequel'. Luckily for Ubisoft, the original BG&E was an outstanding game; a real mesh of enjoyable genres all woven into one, centred around a fantastic sci-fi/fairytale plot involving young lady Jade and her giant talking pig friend, Pey'J.
Creator and beloved game designer Michel Encel has long talked about the sequel for years upon years, ensuring fans it was still in his mind, in development and assumedly, on the way in the immediate future.
With a handful of sketches, announcements of its full-scale development and a teaser all releasing in quick succession earlier this year, this feels like the kind of release that will just drop, fully-formed, after such an agonising wait.
