3. Left Alive

While the Metal Gear name was being dragged through the muck with Metal Gear Survive, and Hideo Kojima was busy making Death Stranding, Left Alive saw MGS artist Yoji Shinkawa lend his sizeable talents to new IP, Left Alive.

Very much marketed as a successor to MGS - its official screens including mechs, stealth sections and Shinkawa's iconic designs - the reality of Left Alive couldn't hold a candle to such a monolithic IP.

Actively worse though, Left Alive was a shoddy game regardless.

Thankfully, Yoji still had Death Stranding to go back to, as playing this came with stilted, outdated animations, broken stealth mechanics, repetitive mech shooting sections and animation lock-ups that could kill you in seconds.

Simply put: Besides its assumed ambitions as a Metal Gear/Splinter Cell analogue with added anime elements, not a single part of engaging with Left Alive was remotely enjoyable.
