15 Best Moments In The Uncharted Series
11. Stranded In The Desert (Drake's Deception)
In the same way as the cruise ship, one of the many ways Uncharted 3 decided to shake things up from the epic highs of the second game was to introduce more ambiguous and experimental gameplay sections. As a result, the entire game attempts to warp your perception of the story, either through flashbacks, fake-out deaths or drug-induced hallucinations that keep you constantly second-guessing as you move through the title.
However, the best of these sections probably comes after the game's biggest set-piece (don't worry, we'll get to that later). Stranded in the desert and with no supplies in sight, you're forced to wander aimlessly for what seems like days, suffering mirages of an imagined oasis before Nate essentially loses all hope entirely.
It's a bit weird that a sleep and water deprived Drake jumps straight back into murder mode as soon as he finds a loaded gun (you could probably say it's down to adrenaline but we don't buy it), but it doesn't stop this from being one of the weirdest and most memorable moments of the entire franchise.
