5. Thumper

Drool

Described as a "rhythm violence" game by developer Drool, Thumper is an entrancing, anxiety-inducing and extremely replayable rhythm game that's made even more intense by the PSVR support patched in shortly after release.

The game sees the player controlling a metallic, beetle-like object as it navigates a series of rails while attempting to avoid various obstacles thrown its way. Thumper's ludicrously fast-paced gameplay is demanding enough in 2D, but within the PSVR headset, it's a balls-to-the-wall, sweaty-palmed delight.

A strong contender for one of the most challenging and engrossing rhythm games ever made, this visually stunning, take-no-prisoners romp will keep you coming back even when a segment keeps kicking your a** time and time again.
