9. Harley Realises Joker Is Bad For Her - Injustice 2
The more movies like Suicide Squad start to flesh out Harley Quinn's presence in a semi-realistic context (i.e. not as a cartoon), the more it's evident that Joker's hold on her is entirely problematic.
We're talking about a guy who abused another's love by reducing their psyche down to servitude, repeatedly leaving Harley without a means to escape or think for herself, left more as a punchline than a 'partner in crime'.
Well, no more.
Not only does Injustice 2 see Harley switching sides to join Batman, but her real battle comes after being affected by Scarecrow's fear toxin, leaving her to fight Joker's conjured personality in her mind.
It's a pretty powerful moment, seeing Quinn not only acknowledge Joker's hold, but rebel against and destroy it, emerging evermore powerful and independent as a result.
