Filled with deathtraps, pitfalls and puzzles, the original Tomb Raider had countless ways for Lara Croft's illustrious career to meet a sticky end. While any one of these would be deserving of a place on this list, one of the most bizarre came in the form of a statue's hand. While tasked with turning bars of lead into gold via the mystical properties of the statue of King Midas, many players made the mistake of getting a little too close to the object. Whether through a mistake or plain old curiosity, stepping upon the statue's hand would result in a brief cutscene of Lara being transformed into gold and a very quick death. Weird, but still,, at least she died covered in bling.
