11. PS5 Info Starts Leaking Out
The Prediction: The first concrete information about the PS5 will start leaking out from respected journalistic sources - such as Kotaku's Jason Schreier - before the end of the year.
Why It Will Happen: It's entirely possible that the PS5 will launch in late 2019 - but more likely 2020 - and Sony will certainly be a way into development by the end of this year.
So, some provisional specs and perhaps some of Sony's philosophical/design decisions for the console will probably come to light by then.
Why It Might Not: With the PS4 being an absolute sales monster, Sony could really drag this generation out for a while longer if they want to, so if they end up targeting a late 2020 or even 2021 release, 2018 could be too early to know any serious info.
