Dark Souls (and its predecessor Demon's Souls) has grown a reputation for it's extreme difficulty, nearly becoming the selling point for gamers in search of a challenge. With a severe lack of direction and help, the game throws players straight into the deep end to fend for themselves, basically having to learn how to fight and play whilst taking a stab in the dark as to which direction they're supposed to be going. It's all about learning from your mistakes - or deaths in this instance - because there will be a lot of them a long the way. The unpredictability of enemies and bosses, as well as the inventiveness, makes for one crazy roller coaster ride of button-mashing and corridor crashing.
