15 Iconic Video Games That Almost Turned Out Completely Different

12. Shadow Of The Colossus Was Essentially Monster Hunter

One of the most moving and impactful titles of the last 10 years, Team ICO's followup to the first princess-rescuing tale that gave them their namesake didn't start out as the heart string-pulling opus it would end up as. Instead, you wouldn't play as one adventurer in Wander, but as a team of people all assembling alongside the Colossi to take them down. If you've played Monster Hunter or seen the phenomenal Attack of Titan anime then you've got a pretty good idea of what a group of Davids tackling a Goliath looks like, and although Shadow turned out spectacularly in the end anyway, this group aesthetic is a really sweet idea that should see the light of day in the future.
