The Fallout series is one of the most immersive games of all time; it eats you up and spits you out hours later, having caused chaos across California, Nevada and Washington D.C. Its meteoric rise came with the release of Fallout 3 in 2008, but the story really began back in 1997. Interplay Entertainment dropped a new game onto the market called Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game. It was hailed as a "glowing example of its genre" and it stood the test of time - seriously, if you haven't already, go play it - leading to numerous sequels and tie-ins.
