To say that the story of EA's time with the Star Wars license has been a controversial one would be... putting things lightly. Disney kicked things off by decimating LucasArts, before cancelling the hotly anticipated Star Wars: 1313 altogether, and when EA decided to reboot Star Wars: Battlefront with Battlefield architects DICE at the helm, things did not go swimmingly.

The game was criticised for a lack of content, and its sequel - although on the rise once more - was dealt a heavy blow by controversy surrounding its microtransactions. All this, just after development was scrapped on Visceral Games' single-player title, which would've been helmed by Uncharted alum Amy Hennig.

But all is not lost for the Star Wars license. Titanfall developers Respawn are working on Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and though we're yet to see anything - really - regarding the game, a 2019 release is still possible.
