The Originals: 1997's Carmageddon was a ridiculously enjoyable, hilariously graphic car combat game which spawned two immediate sequels in 1998 and 2000, with reviews ranging from mixed to broadly positive. Despite Carmageddon 4 being in development shortly thereafter, it was put on hold in 2005 and believed cancelled by many. The Resurrection: The original devs, Stainless Games, bought the series' rights in 2011 and began development on their reboot, Carmageddon: Reincarnation, with funds being raised by Kickstarter. After numerous delays, the game was finally released this past May. Why It Needs To Stay Dead: Reincarnation was met with heavily mixed notices and has mostly gone unnoticed by gamers at large, pretty much suggesting that there just isn't the big, AAA money to pull off a satisfactory version of this game. If fans have to settle for buggy, awkward table scraps like this, they may as well not even bother.
