15 Severely Underrated PS3 Games That Deserve A Second Chance

What sort of world do we live in that these great games have been so easily forgotten?

The passing of the torch from the PS3 to the PS4 was an odd one. With many of the latter's greatest games being remasters of its predecessors greatest hits, it's as if the PS3 - having passed the baton - is still running alongside the PS4 to make sure that it doesn't trip over its own feet. The PS3's greatest hits live on, immortalised in their current-gen makeovers. But the vast majority of PS3 games have been left behind, doomed to be forgotten unless some benevolent force comes along and resurrects them (which is where WhatCulture comes in). Among these were games too ambitious for their own good, trying to offer online experiences of an unprecedented scale. Then there were the games that just appeared at the wrong time, unknown but brilliant IPs that appeared right at the start or end of the console's life cycle. Other games still just slipped under the radar; indy gems that appeared on the PlayStation Store before console gamers - new to the world of digital game downloads - really knew what to do with it. This is a tribute to those PS3 games that fell by the wayside and deserve better. Dejected and forgotten, they'll cost you next to nothing, yet deliver memorable experiences that are in some cases among the very best the console has to offer. These unsung, underrated games deserve a place on your console - will you give it to them?
