5. Stage Tour

If you loved classic Guitar Hero and Rock Band and somehow missed this announcement, it might just make your day.

RedOctane, the studio behind the first four Guitar Hero games, might’ve been closed in 2010 but some of their team won’t take no for an answer. Over 15 years later they’re back as RedOctane Games and they’re doing so with a brand new rhythm game and a new plastic guitar.

Stage Tour doesn’t have any actual gameplay footage yet, but it is targeting a 2026 drop and aims to be the studio’s “love letter” to music games. Partnering with guitar manufacturer Gibson goes to show they’re serious, and not only will in-game guitars be Gibson models but the new Stage Tour plastic instrument will be a Kramer (a brand owned by Gibson).

Stage Tour is offering gameplay for vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers and even keyboardists, as well as promising you can play with a mouse or standard game controller (some of us will have a weird kind of nostalgia for that, I’m sure).

Here’s hoping for an all-timer of a setlist.
