11. Horizon Zero Dawn

The Buzz: The latest effort from Guerrilla Games (Killzone) looks nothing if not ferociously unique. Set in a post-apocalyptic land ruled by what appear to be dinosaur robots, players control hunter Aloy as she attempts to survive the harsh landscape set before her.

Horizon is an open-world RPG propelled forward by exploration, resource gathering and crafting, and while so many open-world games ultimately end up feeling quite hollow, there's a lot of hope that this one will at least provide a staunchly original vision to separate it from the pack.

There's still a lot up in the air about the story, characters and gameplay, but if it lives up to its potential, this could be the start of a killer new franchise for Sony.
