Team ICO's little indie-game-with-a-budget influenced countless encounters post-release, but Darksiders II's duel with the towering Guardian is one of the most fun. Already coming amidst a highly-stylised, superbly animated hack n' slash game, seeing The Guardian send shockwaves across the environment only makes you want to sharpen your blades and get stuck in.

Hopping atop your horse, Despair, and tearing off towards his heels is immediately engaging, and that's before you start dodging the Guardian's mighty attacks by weaving through his legs, targeting weakspots and catch-redirecting projectiles to finally take him down.

Oh, and the background score is perfect.
