12. Drake's Motto Is Mistranslated

Nathan Drake carries around a ring he claims belongs to explorer Sir Francis Drake, and engraved on the ring are the words “Sic Parvis Magna,” a Latin phrase which Drake translates as “Greatness from small beginnings.” In many ways, this phrase sums up Drake’s character and his motivation.

However, it is also a mistranslation. It actually translates out to “Thus, from small beginnings, Great Things Come.”

As you can see, the actual translation doesn’t quite roll off the tongue.
