Another, more famous, Final Fantasy boss, Ruby Weapon is at the pinnacle of Square Enix's long list of optional superbosses that exist to make you feel like you suck at the game they feature in. One of seven monsters created by Final Fantasy VII's 'Lifestream' in order to protect the planet from Sephiroth's psychotic crusade to destroy it, Ruby is a champion of cheapness. Why it's unfair: Because if you're entering the battle completely blind - that is, not reading up on a guide beforehand - there's almost zero chance you're going to emerge victorious. Don't bother entering the fight with all three party members kitted out to the teeth with fancy materia and gear - doing that means that Ruby will be completely immune to damage. No, you need to start off with two of your squad members dead - only then will Ruby reveal his pixelated tentacles for you to wail on. If you let the fight drag on for too long, which is practically a given, considering the boss has 800,000 HP, Ruby will gain the ability to permanently remove one of your party members from the fight.
