19. Call Of Duty Goes Killzone

Though the game was officially announced over a month ago, Sledgehammer Games gave us a proper glimpse at gameplay from this November's Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Rather than selling itself on the presence of Kevin Spacey, we were shown a mission in which the player has to drop into a war-torn city, and it's no exaggeration to say that it appears to be more than a little reminiscent of PS4 launch title Killzone: Shadow Fall. To look at it, this is nothing like any CoD game we've played before: players are kitted out with thruster-style jet-packs, mechs, laser guns, and have to face off against strange flying machines. Then there's the graphics, which are a substantial leap up from Ghosts' rather disappointing presentation: the motion blur, texture quality and lip sync are all exceptionally good. There are also some innovated gameplay mechanics, such as the ability to rip a car door off and use it as a shield. Still, the core gameplay doesn't appear to be massively altered, and so it's likely that Advanced Warfare will still be the same frustratingly linear gameplay experience. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is out November 4th.
