It's very rare that a third core instalment in a given series is the one that puts it on the map, but the seismic shift in Far Cry's timeline feels almost biblical:

There's 'Before Far Cry 3', and 'After Far Cry 3'.

In fact, Ubisoft crafted such a perfect template for their revamped first-person action game, Far Cry 4 was pretty much a re-release with fancier graphics, asking fans to do everything all over again with only minor tweaks to core mechanics.

Thing is, it was one of the only times where we couldn't be happier.
