7. Bloodborne

Despite fans continually begging FromSoftware to port Bloodborne to PC and other consoles, more than five years after its release it remains a PS4 exclusive, and is also one of the system's most widely-praised titles regardless of exclusivity status.

While retaining the ingenious encounter design and high level of challenge of the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne stands on its own with its faster-paced combat, more streamlined approach to stats and progression, and its singularly beautiful art style.

It can be a maddening game at times, no question, but the elation at finally plowing through a tricky boss speaks for itself. Better still, it's one of the few games on this list which was released "free" as part of PlayStation Plus.
