What do you get when a veteran developer returns to a genre they helped take to the next level, cementing many peoples' favourite instalment of an already iconic franchise?

One of the best damn western RPGs of all time, and easily of the generation.

That latter qualifier means very little when you're up against Mass Effect Andromeda, but still - Outer Worlds is all about prioritising player choice and response in the world.

Obsidian have gone back to the drawing board, inventing a new galaxy of hyper-brutal corporations buying space and planets out in the cosmos, only to crank up production and reduce human rights. New religions are born, various commentaries address consumerism, capitalism, socialism and everything in between, and at the heart is you, making dialogue decisions every step of the way.

The sheer amount Obsidian wrote for Outer Worlds is ludicrous, but it gives you a sandbox of gameplay potential, replete with a heart and soul that's beating with a new sense of vigour and vibrance.
