20. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

The Captain Toad levels in Super Mario 3D World were fine enough, they were nothing amazing but they were a nice change of pace every once in a while. Nobody hated the Captain Toad levels but nobody demanded a game entirely made up of them.

Nintendo doesn't really care though and develop whatever they want whether somebody wants it or not. In this case, that was for the better as Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker expands upon what was established in Super Mario 3D World to create a really fun puzzle game.

In Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker you play as Captain Toad or Toadette depending on who got kidnapped that week - honestly this is a nice way of establishing them both as equally incompetent.

Now since love is second to treasure, they refuse to take off their heavy backpacks where they store their loot. These are so heavy that they can't even jump so that's what the puzzles revolve around.

Yeah, there's an alright port on the 3DS and the Switch definitely has the definitive version but still, the Wii U brought us Captain Toad's misadventures with Toadette and should be appreciated for that.
