13. Pyramid Head (Silent Hill 2)

Pyramid Head is perhaps the most universally recognisable and beloved aspects of the Silent Hill series. Though he€™s featured considerably less in certain games compared to others, his appearances have always been memorable, and absolutely chilling. With that said, nothing can quite top his introduction in Silent Hill 2, in which he€™s depicted assaulting two nurses in a sexually suggestive manner.

It€™s haunting and bewildering, and perhaps one of the earliest signs that Silent Hill 2 was dealing with more complex, and potentially adult themes than the first game.
