20 Boss Fights That Actually Get Easier

20. Great Grey Wolf Sif - Dark Souls (2011)

From the instant players encounter the Asylum Demon at the start of Dark Souls, it's clear that they're going to be in for a monumentally difficult time. The bosses only continue to get harder from here, with the likes of the Bell Gargoyles and the Capra Demon being major hurdles during the early hours.

Another boss who poses a threat is Great Grey Wolf Sif. Found deep within Darkroot Garden, watching over his master's grave, this massive dog is incredibly agile for its size, darting around the arena while wielding a giant sword in his mouth.

Sif's speed and large, sweeping attacks are enough to make him a challenge, especially if players stumble upon him early. However, once players get his health to a critical level, the fight is essentially over.

Sif becomes much slower and weaker to the point that he's barely able to attack. While the fight is now much more doable, it's at this moment that players have the heart-wrenching realisation that they're about to kill a loving pet. This emotional blow hits even harder if players encounter Sif in the DLC first.

Since defeating this boss is necessary for progression, there's no avoiding this heartbreaking fight.
