After the enormous success of its predecessors, Harebrained Schemes decided to follow the same Kickstarting route for the next iteration of their fantastic RPG series, Shadowrun. Their $100,000 minimum Kickstarter target was absolutely decimated, with the grand total hitting $1.2 million, more than ten times what the developers set out to achieve. These RPGs are based on the cyberpunk-fantasy tabletop role-playing games which were particularly popular in the nineties. The previous two games gained acclaim from many fans of the genre, with Dragonfall especially receiving a huge deal of praise.
