15. Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey - $1.5 Million
Fans of the original - and quite brilliant - Longest Journey games had quite a while to wait before this third entry finally arrived, as the original was released way back in 2000. Dreamfall Chapters easily surpassed its Kickstarter target of $850,000 in March 2013. The episodic 3D adventure game had its first part released on 21st October 2014. Like its predecessors, Chapters is set in the parallel worlds of Stark, a cyberpunk future earth, and Arcadia, its magical fantasy counterpart. The game received mixed reviews on its release, although the majority of fans of the series did approve, and with a four more chapters to come, the subsequent releases may find more success.
